The lake level is 603.3ft. above sea level or roughly 3ft. over summer pool. Lot’s of rain this week Monday alone we got over 4in.
Water temps are mid-70’s and the lake remains pretty clear despite all the rain.

“CRAPPIE”
I am fishing them a couple ways. We use a slight breeze to push minnows under a slip bobber across Shelbyville Cubes. These are man-made cribs perfect for summer cover. You must move around to find cubes that aren’t too deep since the lake is so high.

Second way is we are trolling for them on chain weights and single hook spinner rigs tipped with a lively minnow on line counter reels to duplicate depth. These fish are down about 15ft. in much deeper water. On a 1 1/2oz. weight at 1mph you need out 34ft. on your counter. to fish 15ft. deep.

“WHITE BASS”
Pulling bouncers and single hook spinner rigs and a minnow for them for a couple more weeks. Edges of wind blown flats or points with wind blowing into them. There has been no shortage of wind. Then we will start using my Deep Ledge Spoons with a hair jig above it for the remainder of the summer.

“SAUGER”
Fishing the sauger/walleye the same as the white bass. I have areas that some time of the day they will concentrate on wood. We are pulling bouncers and spinners along side these stumps. Been catching about 20 a day but only getting 7-8 keepers. But with all the other fish we catch pulling spinners it works out. Easy style of fishing everyone loves it.

Well my June is full, my July is full but I have some great dates in August when the spoon bite really kicks in. Crappie are good anytime.

Here is what I need to fill up. My Kentucky Lake trips. I have September 17,18,20,21,22,30 still open. The weather is perfect and I have placed beds in deeper water that hold some real giants. Don’t miss out you come once and you will make it an annual thing. Give me a call at 217-840-1221
