YOYO is the word for end of April first part of May. The lake came up to summer pool or about five-feet then back down two-feet now back up nearly three-feet to a foot and a half over summer pool expected crest. Water temps hit 65 then back to 55 now back up to 67.

The crappie spawn is in full swing but with the lake rising a lot of the beds I have been using are now too deep. So I am always moving. It seams like ten-feet on my slip bobber set up is as deep as I can find any fish and those fish were in six-feet just a few days ago setting up a bed. They have left any bed that was too deep after it came up.

Since I am doing three person trips for the most part we are setting the boat up to the side of mostly stumps on points and flats. Then drifting a minnow across them on a slip bobber. My Livescope is on a Livescanner pole so I can bring my distance out to 45 feet find a stump turn the boat so as not to run over it. The bring it in to 30 feet for more definition and see fish moving around the stump. Check for depth the fish are tell customers what depth and then settle off to the side on spotlock. Extremely effective.

Since we are going up so high the walleye will do one of two things. Go up the river even further or come out and wait on our first shad spawn. I have done some walleye fishing once we get our limit of crappie but no luck. I still have over two weeks before we get serious about the walleye. Right now it is keep up with the crappie spawn.
