Water temps today was 60-61 on the north end. Color very dirty up by Wilborn and over at Bo-Woods. The lake levels are at 599.7 ft. above sea level or summer pool. They are dropping it pretty fast down to 596. This will relocate fish for sure. Currently I am seeing male crappie take on their spawn colors and today April 18th I saw some females with bloody egg sacks so some spawning is starting. This weekends cold weather will slow it up a bit but they are really dedicated and the bite should still be good. Today we boated a three man limit in under three hours. We went looking for walleye but I think they have run up the river with the high water. We will have rods ready to try once we get our boats limit of crappie. That is what we are looking for now.

I am putting both my customers up front with me and they are tight lining a minnow on a drop shot rig and just hammering them and really I am seeing the bigger fish come on the minnows as we had several over 12in. today. I am fishing a 3/32oz. Deep Ledge Jig and a Brushpile Hammer. Today was Wyatt’s Blue Magic but Monkey Milk and Green Goblin are working just as well.

Crappie are really on fire so get out there!!!!!!
