About Fishing Guide, Steve Welch
He’s been quoted and written about in the Bloomington Pantagraph, Peoria Journal Star, Effingham Daily News, Illinois Fish & Game Finder Magazine, North American Crappie, and Field & Stream's 'Best Fishing Spots in the Midwest'. In the winter, after it ices over, Steve Welch is a seminar speaker and has given fishing lectures, seminars and informational talks at all the prominent downstate fishing shows. He’s also speaks to local clubs and associations. Steve’s been a member of the Ranger Pro Staff since 2000 and is a touring Crappie U.S.A. Pro. He’s won numerous crappie tournaments, some with over a hundred teams. He fishes for Crappie year round, Walleye from Mid-May through Mid-July, White Bass from Mid-May to November, when the surface temperatures reach 80 degrees or over, in the summer.
